Tour Itinerary
Day 1Arrival in Casablanca
Welcome to Morocco.
Upon arrival in Casablanca, you’ll be met and transferred privately to your Saharaï-selected hotel — a soft, comfortable landing designed to ease you into the rhythm of the journey.
Depending on your arrival time, we can shape the afternoon into a relaxed first taste of the city. A perfect starting point is the Atlantic coastline: a gentle stroll along the corniche, a quiet café stop, and that first moment of ocean air that sets the tone for a north-to-south Morocco crossing.
If timing allows (and you’d like), we can include an iconic Casablanca highlight: Hassan II Mosque, dramatically set above the sea and considered one of the country’s architectural showpieces. It’s a powerful introduction — monumental scale, intricate craftsmanship, and the sense that Morocco’s artistry begins immediately.
The evening is kept intentionally light: a calm dinner reservation (classic Moroccan or contemporary) and an early night if you’re arriving off a long flight — because tomorrow begins the imperial chapter.
Overnight: Casablanca (Saharaï-selected hotel)
Saharaï moment: Atlantic air, city lights — and the feeling that Morocco has opened its doors.
Day 2Casablanca → Rabat (Imperial Capital)
After breakfast, the day begins with a final Casablanca moment if needed. If you weren’t able to visit it on Day 1, we’ll schedule Hassan II Mosque this morning — an unforgettable Atlantic-side landmark, and a beautiful way to start the journey with Morocco’s craftsmanship on full display.
Then travel north to Rabat, Morocco’s polished imperial capital. The pace today is intentionally elegant and unhurried — more curated highlights with breathing room.
On arrival, you’ll explore Rabat’s most iconic sites, typically including the Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V — a serene, monumental complex that captures the city’s royal tone. From there, continue to the Kasbah of the Udayas, where white-and-blue lanes overlook the river and ocean. It’s one of Rabat’s most atmospheric corners — perfect for a slow walk, photos, and a calm mint tea pause with a view.
If timing allows, we can also include Chellah — Rabat’s atmospheric historic site where ruins and gardens create a quieter, more poetic counterpoint to the city’s grand landmarks.
Settle into your Saharaï-selected riad/hotel and enjoy a relaxed evening with a refined dinner reservation.
Overnight: Rabat (Saharaï-selected riad/hotel)
Saharaï moment: Imperial calm — sea breeze, white-and-blue lanes, and a city that feels effortlessly composed.
Day 3Rabat → Chefchaouen (The Blue City)
After breakfast, depart Rabat and head north toward the Rif Mountains. The scenery gradually softens into greener hills and mountain curves — a gentle transition from imperial formality to a more serene, slow-living Morocco.
By afternoon, you arrive in Chefchaouen, Morocco’s beloved Blue Pearl. Check into your Saharaï-selected riad/hotel and let the pace drop immediately. The rest of the day is designed to be simple and beautiful: wander the blue-washed lanes, discover small artisan corners, and pause often — for photos, for coffee, for the feeling of being somewhere unusually calm.
If you’d like a deeper layer of story and context, a local guide can be added for a short walking tour — perfect for discovering hidden corners, the best viewpoints, and the quiet details most visitors miss.
As the light softens, we can include a short viewpoint walk timed for golden hour, followed by a relaxed dinner in a tucked-away address that suits Chefchaouen’s calm mountain mood.
Overnight: Chefchaouen (Saharaï-selected riad/hotel)
Saharaï moment: Late afternoon in the blue streets — quiet, photogenic, and effortlessly charming.
Day 4Chefchaouen → Fes
Morning in Chefchaouen is especially lovely — softer light, quieter lanes, and that calm mountain air before the day begins. Enjoy a relaxed breakfast, with time for a final slow stroll through the blue-washed medina, a coffee stop, or a few last photos while the streets are still gentle.
Then depart for Fes, transitioning from Rif Mountain serenity to imperial depth. The drive is comfortable and scenic, with well-timed pauses built in so the journey feels smooth rather than long.
Arrive in Fes in the afternoon/evening and check into your Saharaï-selected riad/hotel — typically tucked inside or near the medina for the most atmospheric experience. If you’d like, we can include a soft first evening orientation: a panoramic viewpoint over the medina rooftops, a brief walk to get your bearings, or a calm dinner reservation in a refined setting to set the tone for tomorrow’s guided day.
Overnight: Fes (Saharaï-selected riad/hotel)
Saharaï moment: The first evening behind ancient walls — Fes humming quietly in the background.
Day 5Fes Guided Tour (Full Day) & Optional Artisan Add-Ons
Today is dedicated to Fes, Morocco’s most intricate imperial city — a living medina where craftsmanship, scholarship, and daily life still move through the same lanes. With a private local guide, you explore at a pace that feels immersive but never overwhelming.
Begin at Bab Boujloud (the Blue Gate), then step into the medina’s main arteries — a world of souks, spice corners, and artisan streets where workshops are active in real time: metalwork, woodcarving, textiles, and ceramics. You’ll include key architectural highlights such as the Bou Inania Madrasa, and continue through historic quarters around the Al-Qarawiyyin area (experienced respectfully via viewpoints and surrounding lanes), where the city’s intellectual soul is most strongly felt.
If you wish, include the iconic viewpoints over the traditional tanneries — one of Fes’s most famous scenes — done in a Saharaï way: brief, intentional, and well-managed (no pressure, no chaos). The afternoon can also include refined contrasts beyond the medina lanes, such as the Royal Palace gates (exterior) and the historic Mellah (Jewish Quarter) for a wider sense of the city’s layers.
A calm Saharaï-style lunch pause is built in, with time for tasteful shopping if you wish — guided toward quality and authenticity.
Optional artisan add-ons (arranged on request): a ceramics atelier visit (and beginner session), a zellij mosaic introduction with artisans, or a curated leather workshop visit.
Overnight: Fes
Saharaï moment: Leaving the medina feeling exhilarated by its richness.
Day 6Fes → Volubilis → Meknes (Imperial Day)
After breakfast, travel out into the rolling countryside for a day that adds beautiful historical depth to the imperial story.
Begin at Volubilis, Morocco’s most iconic Roman archaeological site — set among olive groves and open hills. Wander the ancient streets and ruins at an easy pace, taking in the scale of the site and the quiet contrast it offers after the intensity of the medina.
Continue onward to Meknes, another of Morocco’s Imperial Cities, known for its grand gates and royal-era architecture. Here, the experience is curated rather than exhaustive: key highlights, a gentle walk through the most atmospheric corners, and time to pause for coffee and absorb the city’s calmer rhythm.
By late afternoon, settle into your Saharaï-selected riad/hotel (in Meknes, or optionally back in Fes depending on your preferred pacing and accommodation tier).
Overnight: Meknes (or Fes, by arrangement)
Saharaï moment: Roman stones to imperial gates — Morocco’s layers, beautifully revealed.
Day 7Meknes / Fes → Marrakech
After breakfast, begin your journey south toward Marrakech — a comfortable, scenic travel day designed with Saharaï pacing: well-timed breaks, a calm lunch stop, and enough breathing room so it feels smooth rather than long.
As you arrive in the afternoon/evening, the energy shifts immediately — Marrakech is warmer, more alive, and more theatrical than the northern cities. Check into your Saharaï-selected riad/hotel and enjoy a soft landing into the red city’s atmosphere: rooftop mint tea, a gentle evening walk, or a refined dinner reservation in a beautiful courtyard setting.
If you’d like a classic first-night moment, we can also time a short pass through Jemaa el-Fna as the sun sets — just enough to feel the theatre of the square — before retreating back into calm.
Overnight: Marrakech (Saharaï-selected riad/hotel)
Saharaï moment: The red city at night — lanterns, rooftops, and that magnetic Marrakech hum.
Day 8Marrakech Guided Tour (Full Day) & Departure
Today is Marrakech done properly — a full, beautifully paced day that feels like the perfect finale to an imperial journey.
Begin with a curated guided route through Marrakech’s most iconic points of interest — Bahia Palace, the Madrasa (Ben Youssef, when accessible), the Koutoubia Mosque (exterior gardens), and the atmosphere of Jemaa el-Fna — with time in between for select medina lanes and souk streets of spices, lanterns, leather, and artisan workshops. Your guide keeps the experience elegant and fluid, steering you toward the best corners without the chaos.
A Saharaï-style lunch pause is built in — ideally a refined terrace or garden setting — followed by a calmer contrast in the afternoon at Jardin Majorelle, a serene escape of bold color and botanical beauty that feels worlds away from the medina’s energy.
Depending on your flight time, we keep the final hours flexible: a short rooftop rest back at your riad, a final shopping stop for finishing touches, or an optional hammam ritual if you’d like to end the journey feeling restored.
Private transfer to Marrakech Menara Airport for an evening or night departure.
Saharaï moment: Marrakech in all its full color and splendor.
Note: Day 8 is designed around your flight time. For morning departures, we can adjust timing or add an extra night in Marrakech.

FAQs: Imperial Grandeur: 8-Day Luxury Tour of Morocco’s Imperial Cities
Is this an Imperial Cities tour (Rabat, Fes, Meknes, Marrakech)?
Yes. This itinerary is designed around Morocco’s four Imperial Cities, with Chefchaouen as a scenic, restful contrast and Volubilis for historical depth.
Where does the tour start and finish?
Standard routing starts in Casablanca and finishes in Marrakech. If you prefer, we can adjust the finish to return to Casablanca or add extra nights.
Is Chefchaouen included, and do we need a guide there?
Yes, Chefchaouen is included. Many guests love exploring independently, but a local guide can be added for a short walk to hidden corners and the best viewpoints.
What’s included on the Fes guided day?
A private guided medina experience typically includes Bab Boujloud (Blue Gate), artisan quarters, key architectural highlights such as Bou Inania Madrasa, historic medina lanes around the Al-Qarawiyyin area (viewpoints/respectful access), and optional tannery viewpoints — all paced elegantly with a calm lunch pause.
What’s included on the Marrakech full day (Day 8)?
A curated route can include Bahia Palace, Ben Youssef Madrasa (when accessible), Koutoubia gardens (exterior), selective souk/medina lanes, the atmosphere of Jemaa el-Fna, and Jardin Majorelle, timed for the smoothest flow.
How much driving is involved on this itinerary?
This is a northern-focused route, so it’s more relaxed than Sahara crossings. There are a couple of longer travel days (Chefchaouen → Fes and Meknes/Fes → Marrakech), but we pace them with comfort stops and a well-timed lunch.
Are medina tours very walk-heavy?
Medinas involve walking on uneven streets and occasional steps. We keep the pace flexible and can tailor routes for comfort — especially for families or guests who prefer a gentler rhythm.
Can we add a cooking workshop and artisan experiences?
Yes. We can include a Moroccan cooking workshop (often in Marrakech, or in Fes depending on timing), plus optional artisan add-ons such as zellij, ceramics, or curated workshop visits.
What accommodation style is this tour built around?
Saharaï stays are boutique-led and design-conscious. You can select your accommodation tier: Boutique Comfort, Boutique Signature, or Signature Luxury (our most premium tier).
What if our flight is in the morning on Day 8?
No problem — Day 8 is designed around your flight time. For early flights, we keep it as a smooth departure day. For afternoon/evening flights, we include the full Marrakech day as written.
